30 Days of Biking: Day 3

Today's ride was a night ride, since I had to work today. I figured I might as well ride down to the Mall and check out the outdoor exhibit at the Hirschhorn Museum. The exhibit is called Song 1. It's a 360 degree projection on the exterior of the museum, accompanied by music (basically various remixes of "I Only Have Eyes for You"). It runs from sunset until midnight.

I love riding DC at night, especially the Mall area. No tourists, no traffic; just wide open empty streets. As I got near the museum, I could hear the eerie music from the exhibit from blocks away. I found a good vantage point and settled in to watch. I still have no idea what it was supposed to mean, but I found it very peaceful and soothing. At 12:15, they shut it down and I turned the bike towards home.

Not a very good photo, but you get the idea.

Miles ridden: 6.75

  1. Great that you're doing the 30 Days of Biking! I am also. I saw the Hirshhorn exhibit a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. :)

  2. I love riding at night in the city. Especially on those warm summer nights ...
