1. I kept noticing people riding around with very low pressure in their tires today, which reminds me that I need to check the air in all my bikes. I know my work bike definitely needs some air. Checking air pressure is something I need to make a better habit of. Along with cleaning my drivetrain. And lubing my chain. And...oh hell. I'm never going to do any of that on a regular basis. I should though. But. AIR. yes, I need some.
2. The awesome folks at BicycleSPACE answered my call for suggestions for a new bike--I'd like to get a touring bike for longer trips--and they pointed me to Velo Orange. I think I'm in love.....come mid-September I think one of those babies will be mine....
Happy Holidays!! See you Thursday!

Ooh, I'm guilty of riding a bit under-inflated recently. Good reminder to think about my bike's maintenance needs.
ReplyDeleteI just put air in my tires yesterday-- sorely needed! Yeah, I need to work in bike maintenance into my schedule too.
ReplyDeleteVelo Orange Bikes are beautiful. I've been contemplating touring bikes myself, and have been eyeing the Surly Long Haul Trucker. I need to do more research, though.
I know a couple of folks with the Surly Long Haul Truckers, and they adore them.
ReplyDeleteIf I may, I love love love my Surly Long Haul Trucker. I bought it for the Pittsburgh-to-DC rides, and it's ended up my main squeeze, to the point that my road bike and my mountain bike suffer from low use.
ReplyDeleteIt's an extremely comfortable ride. I have some LHT reports at type2-clydesdale.blogspot.com/
Excellent blog!
I love bike shopping! I like my LHT, but will say that it is a heavy guy. Are you looking at the VO Randonneur? I know a couple of people who have them (they've done writeups of the bike on my blog) and really like them.
